Cakolosal 5000 – Tanah Lot – Tabanan

(1st October 2006)

Kecak dance is one of many other know Balinese dance. Usually this dance performed by 75 – 150 people at once. However on 29th September 2006, this dance was performed by more than 5000 people.

This performance is the effort of Tabanan government to support the spiritual, cultural and economic aspects of Balinese life. The dance performed also dedicated to promote peace to the world.

As a first step toward unity and development, this dance involves performers from various tribes, racial and religious groupings. By utilizing the concept of joint community cooperation "gotong royong" the performance involving every components of the Tabanan community. All performers participated were all unpaid instead, they only receive a small packet of rice to eat. Believing in the spirit of unity and hope for a better future for all of us.
